Wolfeh walked slowly around the endless forest called Vanar Woods. She kept her eyes out for anything that might help or hurt her. Her eyes soon fell upon a few dried pieces of twigs and quickly took them into her hand. Then she flicked her head around for any movements of predators that might hard her. Realizing there was none, she ran past trees after trees. It was difficult to find your way around, but she managed to make it to her own camp near a small ravine.
The camp she was staying wasn't much of one. She was staying there alone, where many people would disapprove any girl to stay by herself in a lively forest such as this one. It didn't bother her for she knew what to do. Wolfeh made her way to the pile of rocks made into a circle and picked up two very solid looking rocks placed on the side. She quickly both slid and slammed them past each other to create a few sparks. Knowing it would work, she broke the twigs into smaller pieces along with a few dried grass matter. Then she quickly lighted sparks that slowly began to built up into a warm pile of earth matter.
As the sparks began to light, she bent over and began blowing lightly to make the flames ignite into an actual fire. As the fire grew, the other source of fire, the sun fell over the forest. The sky was no longer a bright blue, but turned darker as minutes passed by. It was a good idea for her to pack supplies, but hunting might be sooner then she believed. Taking some dried meet out, Wolfeh bit into her food and began to chew slowly, keeping her senses up for enemies. After a while, she fed a little more twigs to the fire and began to get ready for sleep.
Wolfeh took off all her clothes and laid the weapon belt to the right of her. She laid her clothes in a pile in front of her as she began to transform into a wolf pup. Then slowly she laid down on the small pile of clothes and began to sleep. The fire should keep away unwanted visitors. With that thought she began to drift into a deep the sleep. The night is already pitch black with many bright stars twinkling against the darkness. It was a temperate and relaxing night for the woods. That just made her fall into a deep sleep faster.

Gavin hated this, the pointless traveling with never-ending errands. He could hardly remember the last time he had been able to rest for more than three days at a time. What was it now? A year? A year of working for some of the most hated people in the world. It was truly a joyful job.
By now, he wished that he had brought along someone else, someone with a sense of direction. Everything in these woods looked exactly the same. Had he passed that tree with the oversized bird’s nest before? He had no clue. The only thing he had to judge direction was the moss growing on the trees, and it wasn’t exactly the most dependable thing to rely on. Once night fell, Gavin would be able to get his bearings from the stars. He silently thanked the Rodylian Guards for teaching him that much.
A tree branch sprung backwards and narrowly missed his face as he tried to push it out of his way. He considered marking some of the trees with his dagger to make sure he really wasn’t just going around in circles. Vanar shouldn’t be too far away now even if he had just been spiraling around the woods for days. A spiral eventually met the center after all. What he was worried about was getting shot by an overly-eager guard.
As the day melted into night, Gavin began stumbling around trying to find a good spot for a camp. After 20 or so minutes of this, he noticed a sort of glow coming from a clearing. He inched forward, careful not to alert anyone who might be standing guard with a nice crossbow. The camp was empty, save for a fire, a pile of clothes and other necessities, and a small dog-looking creature. He crept into the light and looked around for the owner of the items No one was around.
Gavin backed out of the camp, but in the process, tripped over a stone he had neglected to notice before. He groaned and clutched his newly-injured head, hoping whoever owned the camp would not come back to see him.

Wolfeh's ears pricked up at the sound of....an intruder! She quickly raised up her head to see or hear what was going on. Apparently someone tripped over something, but it was hard to make out who. She sniffed the air and managed to make out the scent of sweat, this person was tired and must have gone through a lot. She felt like it was her duty to help this person, well whenever someone is distressed it always felt like her duty to do something.
For a second she thought it would be best to turn back to human and grab her supplies to help this guy, However she will be utterly naked in the forest with the unknown which could just be a guy. Wolfeh focused her eyes to realize it was a guy. Great, this would be more of a problem if he did realize what she really was. He could like run away in surprise, then get lost and die. There were tons of possibility to what could happen!
It took her awhile, but she found it best to play along with him. He wouldn't mind a little dog companion would this guy. Quickly she bit to the small sack full of potions and food she had. The supplies would be depleted more quickly with two people sharing, but it can't be helped. She dragged it slowly, but managed to make it to this man before he ran off or something.
She barked once then quickly nudged inside her bag to fish out some dried meat and offered it to the guy while it was carefully placed in her mouth. Wolfeh only hoped he means no harm to her and more importantly he knows she meant him no harm. If he does accept the meat, he better pet her for it!

Gavin sat on the ground a moment longer and waited for the throbbing to pass. It wasn’t a very bad bump. He’d had much worse than this before. But that fact didn’t stop the pain. After a few seconds, he heard some rustling. Maybe the owner had come back, or maybe the dog was going to start chewing on him. He wasn’t sure which option he would prefer. He stayed on the ground and slid his eyelids open a bit. He could just make out the dog rummaging through some bags. He hoped it wouldn’t notice the small knapsack full of food that was slung over his back. Now it was in the dirt, and all sorts of friendly critters could be crawling all over his dried fish and stale bread.
Next he heard the sound of something being dragged across the ground. He opened his eyes again to see the little mutt holding part of the bag in its mouth as it tried to bring it over to Gavin. Well, that was odd. Maybe he smelled like its owner. The dog fished around in the bag for a moment and remerged with a piece of dried meat in its mouth, but it didn’t eat the food. The little creature simply stared at Gavin.
What did it want? He wasn’t going to eat it if that’s what the strange little thing wanted. It could be poisoned or… who was he kidding? It was food, free food. Why would he give a care if it was half eaten by some dog? He remembered hearing that dogs’ mouths were cleaner than humans’ anyway. And it was free.
He sat up and placed his hand under the dog’s mouth. Surprisingly, it dropped it. Apparently it hadn’t gotten much slobber on it either. Maybe it was trained to do this sort of stuff. Gavin shrugged and took a bite. He scratched under the dog’s chin in thanks. “So where’s your owner?”

Wolfeh smiled, well made a dog like smile as the man scratched under her chin. It felt good and made all her muscles relax a bit. As for the guy's question, she doesn't know how to answer. It was difficult to talk in human speech in complete animal form. All the animal's skull and jaw was made differently. All she could do was bark lightly, careful not to disturb the other residents in the forest and not to attract any attention toward themselves. She had no owner and wishes to never have one.
Instinctively she wagged her tail as the man scratched. Well that was all she could do to stop the sensation of wanting to yelp and jump around. Oh how she loved to be be cared for. Sometimes she even thought to remain a little pup and settle down with a nice family! Through deep inside she knew her work was much more important and required much of her attention.
Wolfeh moved away from the stranger and dragged the supply sack back near the fire. It took a lot of her puppy power, but she managed. Then she turned and ran over to the guy. She gently put her mouth near the bottom of the man's pants and pulled lightly, careful not to bite down on the fabric. Its best if they sleeped near the fire for tonight.

Gavin smiled as he watched the little dog bound around the camp. He wondered where she—for he instinctively felt the dog was a female—had come from. It wasn’t likely that a dog that looked like it belonged in the far north should be anywhere near Vanar, unless her owner abandoned her here… or was killed. He didn’t want to consider the second option any further.
The night sky looked so huge from the clearing. Maybe it was because he happened to be sitting down, but he rarely saw so many stars at the same time. He’d heard stories that the sky almost opens up around this area. Gavin was hit with a sudden sense of vertigo so he turned away. Who knows, the extra-large sky could even signal a Rift in the area.
The dog had dragged the sack over toward the fire, and she came trotting over to Gavin. Next she started tugging on the edge of his pants. He assumed she wanted him by the fire. This dog was smart, almost too smart. Gavin got up and rolled his thin traveling blanket down by the fire. After taking another bite of his dried meat, he started to look at the stars again. “Oh yeah,” he muttered. “My name’s Gavin.” Taking to a dog. How stupid. What would he be doing next?

Wolfeh rolled over around in the ground near the ravine. Her fine grayish coat of fur was already getting smudged. She trudged back over to this guy Gavin and almost hopped onto him. Soon she realized she was completely covered in icky stuff. She moved over and jumped into the ravine. Luckily it wasn't a deep one. Her coat was clean again and she began to shake herself dry. Finally knowing Gavin won't mind much, she hopped onto his stomach and curled into a around into a circle.

Gavin jumped a bit when the dog jumped onto his stomach. He’d been so caught up with staring at the stars and daydreaming about Rifts, he had almost forgotten about his animal friend. The dog had pushed a good chunk of air out of his lungs so he had to spend a second getting his breath back. Plus, she wasn’t exactly a lightweight for a pup. He laughed. “I’m having a hard time figuring out if you’re smart or just really hyper.” He scratched behind he ears and started staring at the sky again. Maybe the dog would leave him alone long enough so he could get some sleep.

Wolfeh quickly snuggled around Gavin's stomach before finally finding the right place to rest. She settled down for the night and rest her head a bit before curling back into a circle. Sleeping on top of a living thing is better then sleeping on her own clothes. His body felt nice and warm like a mattress. Oh how she wished she could sleep like this forever! It was so much more comforting and she was sure it won't lead to any aches in the morning. Wolfeh opened her mouth to yawn and then settled back to a half asleep state.

Gavin looked at the dog again. She liked people, apparently a lot. He wanted to get up because it felt like she was probably crushing some of his organs, but it might get even worse if she was woken up. A shooting star passed by overhead. He remembered that it wasn’t really a star, but a rock just flying through the depths of space. He found it hard to believe that a rock could produce light, but he would take Vincent for his word. Shifting slightly so that a rock wasn’t digging into his back, Gavin tried to get some sleep.

The morning light finally reached her little campsite, Wolfeh had already waken up. It has been one of her best sleep ever! She hoped to experience again, but life isn't aways comfortable. She queitly walked over to her pile of clothes and nudged around in them to prearrange her clothes to turn back into human form. She looked over to Gavin to make sure he was still asleep. Taking her eyes off of him for a second she turned back. Her joints ached at the sudden change, but how can she help it?
Wolfeh limped over to the ravine for a refreshing morning wake-up. She splashed up a few handfuls of water into her face. Oh how she loved the morning in a tranquil forest such as this one. If only one day she could live like this. No there was to much to be done in her life time. Wolfeh turned back to Gavin, a curious thought came into mind. What was this guy doing here? She kept on wondering as she put on her belt and sat next to him. He was definitely taller, but seemed younger and more of a human.... Maybe she was an ally or he could be an enemy.

The first thing he noticed was the weight on his stomach was gone. Gavin rubbed his eyes and turned on his side. He wished he could sleep more, but with any luck he’d be able to get to Vanar today. Maybe he’d be able to snag a horse for the way home, or maybe Cain could teleport him somewhere. Begrudgingly, he opened his eyes. As they adjusted to the early-morning sun, he could have sworn he was hallucinating.
There was a girl. Sitting in front of him. Staring.
Gavin blinked and then quickly sat up. What was she doing here? She must be the dog’s owner, that was it. He grinned as he scrambled to grab his bag. “So, sorry about spending the night here. Your dog kind of forced me to stay.” He felt like he should say something more. “If you’re heading to Vanar, I could help you out. I think the elves would be less likely to try to kill me if I’m traveling with a girl.” Still, what was she doing out here? She only looked… what? 12?

Wolfeh smiled, she wasn't sure where she was heading herself. All she knows is Gavin seemed to be pretty nice, well nice enough for her to get along with just fine. She wasn't know what to say, but simply nodded in agreement. The forest was already alive with activity as the sounds of running animals flooded her mind. Taking a deep breath her mind seemed refreshed and aware. Any sort of change alerted her senses. It was just one of the good things about being part shapershifter.
"So you're Gavin right?"

Gavin blinked and wet his lips. How did she know his name? He figured that she could have found out by hiding in the woods while he spoke to the dog, but why wouldn’t she have come out then? After rolling up his blanket, he stuffed it into his bag. “Yeah, I’m Gavin.” He scratched his head. “But—” He stopped. There was something different about this girl. Her hair was a rather different color, but that wasn’t uncommon for people with elven heritage. The thing that bothered Gavin was her eyes. They were green, not too unusual, but… “You’re a shapeshifter,” he said slowly. “Your eyes. There the same as that dog. Aren’t they?” He laughed and ran his hand through his hair. “Jeez, I can’t believe how thick I am sometimes.”

"Well yeah, I didn't think turning back last night was a good idea." "After all I was naked and it did feel comfortable on your body," Wolfeh replied happily, with a voice that wasn't to loud for others to hear. She hoppled over to the ravine and took a sip before turning back to Gavin. It has been awhile since she was with someone else. The question now is, if he was an enemy or a comrade. The hardest part with figuring whose who was saying those two words. It was to soon in the morning for her ask, but she hoped maybe he could say those words. Oh it would be so grand if he to was in the Fellowship. If he was a Gatekeeper then may death fall fast and swift. At that thought her eyes flashed dangerously at him for a split second before going back to normal.
