The lands below him burst with a new found life. Green surrounded his small form like a hungry ocean, but thankfully, if he were to land, this ocean would not devour him. It would welcome his presence and allow him to rest, not like he needed it though. Rorik's brilliant blue scales shimmered under the sun's rays, a dazzling light show for any passerby below him. He wasn't paying much attention though, what captivated him at the moment, was the passenger that fitted right in between to of his spine scales. Her added weight made it harder for him to keep altitude, which was why he was searching for a good place to land. The wings, stressed, were now tilted downward, his tail swishing behind him as he cut through the air. His voice carried through the wind as he acknowledged his partner. "Keep your head down, Arty, unless you want to get wind-burn." He mumbled, his wings flapping once more before his tiny frame was hidden within the trees. Rorik maneuvered expertly through the foliage until he came to the ground, his claws hitting it first. The dragon laid its form down in order for the girl upon him to get off. His wings caressed the grassy terrain as he remained completely still, waiting for her departure.
As he waited, he watched the life before him move around in nature's twisted patterns. His expert vision brought a tiny ant to his attention, and he watched it saunter up the path it was currently taking. A throaty grumble became apparent as he laid his head down as well, letting out a deep sigh. The clothing he would use to change into as soon as he re-shifted was safe under his belly.

Artemesia nodded, doing as told, but still looking at the scenery while doing so. It was beautiful, just going to show she hadn't been in the forest forever. When he landed, she quickly slid off of him, giving him a sympathetic look. "Again, I'm sorry about that," She replied, turning away to give Rorik the privacy he needed for changing back. She sat down in the grass, eying a flower in particular as she tried to make conversation with her partner. "So,' she began naturally, sighing before continuing. "I guess I should also apologize in advance for what happened back there. I knew my 'friend' wouldn't be much trouble, but I had no idea the Kaen individual would do what he did. Just goes to show how troublesome people can be." She tried to explain any reasoning behind the apology, nothing seem to fit though. She just sat there, getting lost in her own thoughts until further notice.

Rorik's scales began to sink into his form, as they did so, his angled head became rounded, and where the horns stood, now was a giant mass of matted hair. His wings folded into his shoulderblades and his claws retracted into the spindley things that he called fingers. Soon enough, the small dragon was now a matured adult in the shape of a male. Rorik quickly slipped his apparel on up and over his naked form in order to sheathe it from Arty's view. Of course it felt wrong to wear such things, but it would have to suffice for now. He tapped her shoulder when it was safe to look again, wondering if she was still lost in her little world. Rorik stood over her patiently, trying to reawaken her by responding to her inquiry. "No need to apologise for it, nobody seemed to know, not even the man himself. I assure you that we won't be running into him anytime soon. And don't worry about the flight, you get those kind of perks when you are friends with a dragon." He smirked, watching her carefully.
This whole human thing was still so new to him. He was only used to being a human around himself, that was when he roamed the earth without having to worry about clothing. But now that he was involved with other humanoid beings, it was a bit stranger to him. He shrugged at himself and walked over to Arty's side, laying himself out beside her as casual as was possible for a dragon.

Artemesia turned around to look at Rorik, smiling at his comments. "Oh? Well, it's a first being friends with a dragon. So it's a bit awkward, no offense." She gave him a playful smirk, watching as he came to sit - no lay - down beside her. "So, why do you prefer being human over your original form? If you don't mind me asking, that is. It took me a while before I fully get accustomed to being human myself." Sure, she may have been rambling while asking a question, she took some time to lay back herself, looking up at the sky. It was now shaded with hues of purple, pink, and light tints of orange. The colors seemed to blend in so perfectly, as they did every morning. "Beautiful, isn't it?" She murmured, almost rhetorically. She didn't know if he was interested in such things as she was. Most males, or the ones she had came across were only interested in wealth, status, or fighting. Rorik seemed different. Oh, probably because he was a dragon and neither shape shifter or human.

Rorik smirked, not caring about her comment of him being a dragon. This was his first time getting to know a human creature. Although she barely classified as being a human. Rorik acknowledged her gesture towards the sky, and allowed his eye to capture every part and tidbit that flecked the sky. It was unbelievably beautiful, especially to him. He sighed as he rested his arms on his clothed chest, the soft flesh feeling so alien to him. Humans were vulnerable creatures. "People usually accept humans faster then they do dragons. It's a sad world we live in when prejudice is all people have to rely on these days. Being a human has its perks, no one tries to kill you for your scales or blood when you look like this." He waved his arm feebley before dropping it on his chest again. "Why do you prefer being human?"

She looked at Rorik from the corner of her eyes as he spoke, his comments being rather... random. Then again, weren't her speeches rather random too? She shrugged it off, answering his question as Rorik asked it. "I don't really know, really. If I'm to stay as an animal, I'm more likely to be hunted or tagged as a pet. If I stay human, I'm usually left alone." She stated shortly, sitting up to look at Rorik. "It's exactly how you put it, the prejudice in humans is more common then it possibly should be." She muttered, now looking nowhere in general. She really did need to stop doing this, spacing out. It was a bad habit she did all to often. She began to wonder... Why exactly had Rorik chosen to be human? When he could stray away from humans and have as much freedom as he wanted. Then again, why didn't she do that? She could easily do that same thing.
"It's hard to avoid them, isn't it? I mean, they practically live everywhere on this world... It's hard to find any place empty." She attempted to get an answer out of Rorik, but in all truths, the question may have been so random she doubted she'd get an answer.

Rorik nodded at her words, sitting up as he mindlessly pulled grass. They were out here on a day like today, recuperating. Yes, that was the word he had been searching for. The only reason they had stopped here was so he could regain strength. He was a weak runt after all. "Yes, they are like weeds in a flower garden. And the only way to stay out of their way, is to become one of them. So, why don't we head south and try to find the clearing. Vanar shouldn't be too far away. We can still keep up a conversation." He looked at her once more, noting her somewhat sad array of emotions. It was not like a human to act like this, he was curious of course. Rorik helped her up, waiting until they began to walk before pelting her with deep and emotional questions.
(woot Dr. Rorik is coming xD)

((OOC: Yay for Dr. Rorik! Arty: Oh god, I don't need help. -_- Yes you do, now onward to the post!))
Artemesia looked at Rorik as he spoke, and nodded. The explanation was all too right. She sighed, catching his words about a clearing and Vanar. She sat up, letting him help her up before brushing some grass off her clothes. Not like she cared, it was just a natural habit. Something the human side of her nagged at, being clean. She tested the air for any abnormal scents, and one stood out. Food. Not wild food, hand cooked food. "We're closer to Vanar then one might think," she stated to no one in general, and started walking ahead of Rorik. She stopped occasionally to wait for him. Sure, it may annoy him, but she was part dog. Being that, she was loyal down to the last vein in her body.
It was habit, and this habit couldn't be broken.

Rorik grinned in humor as the girl acted just as a pup would. She would press forward quicker then he would, but look back, patience ridden in her features as he finally took his spot by her side again. A few more moments would pass, and the cycle would repeat twice more, always leaving Rorik smiling. He wasn't annoyed by this kind of behavior, it made him more lax then he already was, and because of that, he was willing to accept anything Artemesia happened to do. His patience was ever-existent as the two of them reached the outskirts of what looked to be where they had been aiming. Small wooden creations mixed in with other, more modern brick architecture. These numerous buildings, all unique in some way, helped make up what was Vanar, a bustling city known for its booming economy and interesting displays of numerous people. Rorik paused up on a hill looking down on the city, Arty a few steps ahead of him as usual. His hands were in his pockets as he looked down upon her in a different light. A curious expression alight on his human face. His sharpened senses had him on the edge, the emotion in the air was uncomfortable, and of course, he needed to know why.
"Is something troubling you, dear Artemesia?"

That question Artemesia would have considered nosy. Had it not been for her taking a liking to Rorik. Still, she kept her feelings to herself, and hardly vented. Unless it was on some depressed rant on how the world had become. He wasn't just an average shape-shifter, nor was he human. He was dragon. Apparently dragons could sense such things like emotional disarray. Where it could come in handy, it was bound to get nerve-racking. Something that one shouldn't posses and be proud of it. She didn't curse Rorik or dragon's having such a keen sense, she merely wasn't used to it. "Nothing," she lied, it was clear Rorik could pick that much up, if he could after all read emotions. Dragons confused and both impressed her, which is most likely why she was willing to travel with Rorik in the first place.
"Well, let's go check out Vanar. I mean we're here, aren't we?" She changed the subject, the smell of both human, shape-shifter, and food was beckoning her to join in on whatever the inhabitants would have been doing. She quickened her pace, again, stopping for Rorik. When they approached the city, people gave her an odd look, but she payed no mind to it. The shape-shifters that dwelt with humans seemed to welcome her, though. It amazed her how well they could get along, that is; if the humans didn't notice their differences. She only nodded a greeting, flashing them a smile.
She stopped at a building that looked like a restaurant of sorts, it smelt of food. Good food, at that. "Want to eat?" She asked bluntly as Rorik caught up with her. Not giving him a chance to talk. She didn't want to speak of emotions, she wanted to shun them.
