Name: Darius Eizer.
Race: Human.
Gender: Male.
Age: Twenty-two.
World of origin: Light.
Allegiance: None at the moment.
Description: Standing at 5'10" and weighting roughly 175 pounds, Darius could be labeled as being normal. As for his hair, there's nothing extraordinary there neither. It could even be described in three short words; short, brown and spiky. In other words, there isn't much that make him very distinguishable. In fact, you wouldn't notice him in crowd his it weren't for his eyes. Well, his left eye to be more precise. His iris are normally of a light hazel tone but he has sectoral heterochromia on his left eye making it hazel with a fairly noticeable green spot on the side.
As for his attire, Darius wears a sleeveless vest colored in forest green underneath an lightweight steel breastplate. The armor itself doesn't offer much protection as it is merely four plates of steel tied together with strings and leather straps. There's three plates in the front that covers his torso and a larger one that covers the upper part of his back. However, such design makes it easy to remove and to equip. It is also made to not block any movements of the user making it more useful than it looks. The plates wouldn't be able to block repeated hits but it would be enough to block the occasional misplaced slashes and arrows. It might not seem very strong but it could be the fine line between a serious injury or not.
As for the lower part of his clothing, a simple pair of brown trousers maintained by a large belt does the trick. There's one water pouch attached to one side and one could see few other smaller pouches attached with strings all around the belt. One of them serves to carry the little money he has on him with the others are there for the sake of holding whatever he might find during his journey. A good old pair of leather boots and an trusty pair of leather gloves completes the attire. Last but not least, a simple lightweight steel helmet covers most of his head.
Skills/Weapons:While certainly not the strongest guy out there, Darius is quite agile for someone of his size and heavily relies on his footwork to get him out of trouble. Very skilled with the spear and quite able as a fencer, he uses a combination of the spear and a sword in combat. Being ambidextrous, Darius usually holds a light wooden spear with his right hand while holding a one-handed sword with the other. Being patient and nimble, this fighter often waits for his adversary to make the first move so he might counterattack with the spear. Using the length of the shaft to keep his opponent at a good distance, the sword is mostly used to fend off anyone that would get too close for the spear to hit.
Aside from his combat prowess, Darius is able to sprint and leap dexterously over short distance but fails in maintaining a steady pace over longer distances. One of his weaknesses is his bad swimming. In fact, he can barely swim at all making him quite vulnerable in water. His main weakness would be his complete lack of knowledge on the magic department.
As for his weapons, Darius travels with a simple and inexpensive wooden spear with a steel head. It's really the kind of spear that you would find in most weapon shops. As fr his sword, nothing fancy there neither. It's just the regular basic and easy-to-use one-handed sword that you could find at any blacksmiths. The spear comes with a leather sheath that covers the pointy head while the sword comes with a scabbard attached to his large belt.
Personality: Open-minded but timid, Darius often plays the role of the quiet one. In any given situations, he would largely prefer to follow rather than lead. His bad habits of staring others led him into many troubles. However, he is not aware that doing so makes other people uneasy. His curiosity also is one of his flaws. In fact, he is so curious that he often ends up asking dozens of questions which tend to get on other's nerves. While being much of a wallflower, Darius is also prone to stand up for his friends believing that little actions can change the outcome of the future.
Being quite the naive one, Darius has an hard time differencing truths from lies. Because of this, he is known to give his trust rather easily and occasionally ended up being dragged along in other's misadventures.
History: Born as the second son of a family of two, Darius always been in the shadow of his older brother. Compared to his brother, he wasn't nearly as strong nor as bright than he was. Both of his parents were bakers and quite successful in their business. In other words, they didn't really had to work when they were young. That said, his older brother had the chance to have a tutor at a very young age. He would learn on diverse topics and learn many tricks and combat skills. Of course, he would need a sparing partner at home and Darius was the only available choice.
Darius would spend most of his childhood learning whatever his brother would teach him during his free time. Spear fights and sword fencing would soon become his favorites ways to occupy his time. While not as skilled as his brother, the younger brother did manage to hold ground during the occasional sparing. Both brothers would develop the fighting style of using both the spear and sword at the same time. However, it would be his brother that would be praised and credited by his tutor.
At the age of fourteen, with his brother now sixteen years old, the brothers would part ways with each others. Darius would choose to stay home to help with his parents business while the older one would go study magic with the Magus. The brothers would meet twice a year during visits, visits that usually ends with the two brothers sparing like the old times in the backyard. And such would be his life for the next six years.
His life suddenly changed two years ago. His older brother, the prodigy, would send a letter to his younger brother saying that he has gone out to find what was happening in the Dark World. The letter was short and was hard to understand. None the less, the younger brother simply chose to not question his brother decision and would continue his life in complete ignorance. This letter would become the last sign from the prodigy.
It has been two years now. Darius, now at the age of twenty two, has left home about a year ago. Eager to learn more about his brother's whereabouts, the younger brother decided to go on a journey of his own to uncover the truth behind the Dark world. But his quest for knowledge would led him in something way bigger than he expected...
RP Sample: "THUNK!" The two swords clashed into each others sending small sparks flying around before locking into a stalemate. It was a bad parry, the impact of the blow made a small notch on Darius's sword. His opponent, a bulky bald man, was using all his strength to push that two-handed sword of his onto Darius's blade. Darius was holding his smaller sword with only one hand, he would have to do something fast to push that thug away. "Die!" Said the larger man. "Die, you puny lil' insect!"
Bending his knees so that the other man would be able to use his weight on the sword, Darius swung his spear horizontally in a half-moon motion to strike his adversary with the wooden shaft. It was a small hit but it was enough to send the bald man tilting unto one side. Darius quickly made a small step unto the other directory unbalancing his opponent who was putting all his weight into the sword. The bald thug heavily felt on the ground before quickly turning around only to meet the head of spear near his throat and his user few feet away holding it at a good distance.
"I'm sure that it is a very, very big misunderstanding!" His words were broken and said in a hurry. "Surely men like us could come up with a agreement right!?" Darius sighed. He had no intention of hurting that man but he knew that he would try to backstab him soon enough. "Ri-Right?" Repeated the thug. Darius sighed again before moving the head of the spear away from the man. "Just, go." He simply said. The bald man grinned but quickly lost his smile. Darius had moved his spear back toward the man's throat. "Please don't try anything stupid, ok?"
"Ye-Yes sir!" And he moved his spear away from the man. The thug wasted little time to crawl away before standing up to run. "You'll pay for this!" Screaming as he ran. Another sigh escaped from Darius's mouth. This world is seriously going downhill. "Oh brother, where are you already?"
