"This will be beneficial to both of us, trust me. All we need to do is find another man who looks like you and take his head instead. Sure its gruesome, but what does it matter? He would just be another human..." Cleo analyzed his expression as she kneaded her leg again, her fingers soothing against the broken fragment. It wouldn't be that hard. A lot of people around here had black hair and white skin. Hell, they could even switch his hair for Vincent's if Railin really wanted to make sure. "What do you say, a life for a life?" Her eyes were half-closed as she tried her best to prop herself up again. It hurt to move, but she had to do something with her time as she let the man ponder this. She actually wasn't sure about what he would say, if he would agree to the terms or not. It was a proven fact that he was not as merciless as she. How irritating.

For a moment, it seemed as if Vincent’s heart had stopped. Then, slowly, he felt the thump near the pit of his stomach. It was horrible to even think about, but it would be so easy. No more headhunter. No more Railin. He had done worse before. Why should this be any different?
He clenched his fist and felt the blood seep in between his fingertips. Because it was murder, plain and simple. He wouldn’t sink down to their level. He couldn’t. If he did, the headhunter would have not only his family but also justice on her side. “I can’t,” he choked out. Was he crying? He couldn’t tell. Why would he be anyway?
“Dammit, I…” He trailed off, his eyes glazed over in thought. “It wouldn’t work anyway.” He swallowed his logic, preparing to use his idiot nerves for a change. “They could tell. Even if we found an exact look-alike, it still wouldn’t…” He took a deep breath. “We have… differences.” Gritting his teeth, he forced out the last words. “I’m not even the same species as these people.”
