A great beast soared through the dark clouds of the night sky. The moon light reflecting off it's obsidian, glossy scales in a beautiful brilliance. The only thing that could be scarily picked out from the dark form that camouflaged itself with the surrounding darkness of the night was it's ivory horns on it's head.
As Paia flapped her mighty wings once more, effortless keeping herself aloft over the tundra covered wasteland down below, she went over her mission in her mind. The black dragon was sent by her master from the Darthiar through the rift to infiltrate Ur and prevent the meeting between the D'Kaltians that was going to occur very soon. She had been given no specifics as to how she was supposed to stop it from happening, just to stop it. But Paia could get quite inventive so that wasn't a problem. In fact she could storm in the place and wreck it enough, but that would be pointless.
Tipping her wings over, Paia descended in a graceful glide toward the small town as it came into her view and grew the close the she got to it. Everyone was inside their cozy homes in the middle of the night. A wicked grin crossed her jaws as she landed and clutched to a small building's roof top. Her presence not yet known, as it seems. Now...she could silently find the human in charge of the meeting that must be staying inside one of these houses, since the meeting was very soon to come.
Paia went down to the ground with a few more flaps and began creeping around the streets, almost slivering pass every building as silent as a snake about to make its kill, her wings tight against her body. She searched for the finest looking dwelling, where she guessed the Emissary would be residing.

Piri was perched rather precariously on one of the many thatched roofs in Ur. The name of the town meant little to her, in fact she didn't even know it. That was one issue with being a spirit which truly puzzled her. She spent a great deal of time drifting between the light and the dark realms. Unlike some of her kind she usually knew which of the two realms she was in due to her careful observation of her immediate surroundings. Where she was in either of these realms didn't interest her. As long as she knew which realm, she had sufficient knowledge. A great difficulty she had struggled with over time was when she traveled between the light and the dark. It wasn't a conscious decision she made, it was more akin to falling. Slowly flitting between one place and another, unable to notice until some time after the change had been made. It frustrated her to no end. Piri liked planning ahead and when she was slipping between realms without warning that was hard to do.
She hoped down from the roof in one fluid movement as something out of the ordinary caught her eye. Piri didn't exactly jump down from her perch, that would be a strange movement for someone with no substance. As when moving between realms she slipped gracefully with little guiding on her part, to hover just above the ground. Piri had always felt the need to stay as close to the natural ground as possible. It made her less inconspicuous. She followed the dragon quietly, not even disturbing the air as she went. That was something she adored. Being nothing meant she didn't have anything to disturb when she moved. It made eavesdropping wonderfully easy. "What brings you here?" she asked when she drew up behind the dragon. Piri was curious, there were simply numerous reasons as to what a dragon was doing here. None of them wholly innocent, then again, that might just be her distrusting nature telling her that.

Paia's long skull bobbed this way and that, searching quietly for her targer. It was becoming annoyingly dificult, despite the lack of buildings in this place. She should have found a structure such as the one she looked for by now. Such a building would be neatly decorated, or at least well painted unliked tha tattered walls of all these houses, have ornaments placed about, be well sized at the very least! But all these walls and doors and windows looked just th same in their worn out state. Was there no rich people here? Where th conditions here so deteriorating? Paia felt like snorting her frustration, a small heap of smoke escaping her tight jaws instead. Perhaps it was all in their plan. To elude possible asailants such as herself. This country was certainly not like Daevir. She had grown to used to her own home and now she needed to adjust a little.
As Paia lost her patience on the ground, her steps having grown a bit louder with her frustration hinting them, the black dragon instead thought of searching through the sky. Hopefully her wings would not create too much of a rustle. The enormous scaled wings where brough apart from her body, readying themselves to take flight, although she needed to climb out of the uncomfortably tight alley she had creeped through. Just as she was going to turn toward the building to her side, Paia's skull spun around at a humanoid voice just behind her. Her eyes narrowed quickly with malevolence at the poor soul that had discovered her presence and let her know. But they widened again to what they where witnessing. It was indeed a soul.
One of her brows arched, wings folding back to place as she calmly turned around, more bemused than surprised, and crouched closely to the girl. "Not your concern." Simple, stern answer. Her deep voice, although she tried to keep low, echoed in the cool night air. "Go haunt someone else." She said through clenched fangs. She really didn't know what could her fisical form do to a spirit, but she didn't want to bother finding out. Just as quickly as she had turned Paia seemed to go back to her path, forgetting what her previous to-do actions where.

"Now, now," said Piri slowly, raising her legs so that she sat floating cross legged in the air. It was a position she often adopted when she was alone or wasn't bothering about concealing that she was, quite simply, a soul without a physical form to inhabit. That usually occurred more often than not in Daevir, not Rodylia. Now though was a slightly unusual situation. "Isn't that a slightly rash response?" she asked with a small smirk on her lips. Other than that small expression her face was empty. It wasn't as if she had schooled her expression to be like that though, it was almost as if Piri was genuinely empty. In a way she felt that she was, wandering for so long had taken its toll on her.
She gestured disinterestedly at the surrounding area. "You obviously do not know this place," she stated simply. The way the dragon was acting made that fact fairly obvious. All her mannerisms suggested that she was looking for something in particular but didn't know where to find it. "I would say I knew these parts better than you do, to my understanding I have been here a fair while if you pass time in a normal manner. Such a shame I cannot return easily," said Piri. Her voice was matter of fact at first but then it drifted off as she got lost in thought. "I believe Mistress Dragon that I could help you find what you seek, that is if you will allow my help or will that trouble your master?" Piri's voice sounded certain but she was not one hundred percent confident. The master comment, that was a risk, a far greater one than she would normally take. Not that Piri was overly concerned, there was little or nothing the dragon could do to harm her.

Paia kept on her looking around, eyes occasionally shifting to the bothersome ghost that was floating in mid air or something. At her first comment, Paia simply flared her nostrils and continued her buseness. She did not care much for the soul. She was busy with her own mission. It was then that her memory had returned. Paia was planning on scanning the town from the air, but by what it seemed, her target must have ingeneously taken residence in an ordinary house. It was the only explanation she could give to her not sniffing him out yet. But the sprit kept talking, and some of her words finally reached a point of interest within the black dragon, causing her to raise her long jaws and face them toward the floating spirit. Paia glared for a moment and released smoke rings through her flaring nostrils. "Are you supposed to be mocking me phantom? " Her jaws tightened and loosed at the end of the sentence, puffing more skoe into the air through her nose. "You speak very boldly to insinuate I am a dog to a master. What gives you your confidence eh? Is it som rash reason you think your form cannot be touched?" Paia said with just as much confidence in her own voice, it being untrembling as the dark dragon began circling the spirit, her body smoothly waving with the momentum of a repile and a wicked grin growin on her snout. She knew, even if Paia herself could not do as much damage, that all the many servants of her master under her claw could listen to her just as well as they would to Sabazios. And they could most certainly find a way to get rid of ghost.
"Besides, what help could a ghost possible provide me?" Still, even though this little spirit seemed to be getting way over her head, she did said she knew the territory. If she proved herself useful, Paia would be more than glad to use the usefulness for her own reasons.

"Mocking?" continued Piri, speaking slowly. Her eyebrows were raised but she was probably the only one who knew about that fact. They had been a pale blond when she had truly been alive but now they were so pale it was almost as if she had none. In truth she had been slightly teasing when she had spoken but Piri did not wish to anger this dragon. That would be rash. In all honesty there was little anyone could do to harm her, seeing as she had no physical substance, but if this dragon was allied with the Dark and its rulers then there was cause to be worried. Someone out there would find a way to harm her. There was always psychological torture after all.
She sighed slightly and tried to reign in her frustration as the dragon spoke. Piri was a calm person by nature, one with a great deal of patience. Sometimes it was hard for her to understand that not everyone was like that. This dragon seemed to be becoming annoyed by her very presence remarkably quickly. "I had merely observed that you did not seem to know your surroundings too well and appeared to be searching for something. I have been in this forsaken town for a fair while now and may be able to help you in your search. Those are simply observations though and may not be correct. If they are wrong or you simply wish for me to leave and you to continue to search fruitlessly, I will leave you be if that is what you wish." Piri carried on speaking slowly and kept her tone of voice neutral. Upsetting a dragon probably wouldn't be the smartest thing to do.

Paia's tail end was twitching a bit as she stared into the calm eyes of the spirit. Her voice matched her pacific self as well. If it was true what she spoke then, maybe Paia will have to accept the aid. After all, she isn't getting anywhere like this and she's wasted too much time as it is.
Finally, a few lights had been lit up far behind them, at the end of that street. Paia turned her massive skull back slowly, tilting it a bit at the dim lights. She turned her gaze back on the girl narrowed her eyes before puffing out more smoke from her nose. "So be it then. I'm sure you are expecting something in return. We will strike whatever bargain you wish, but not here." The dragon was still tightly limited in her movements by the closed space of the houses. With a surprisingly agility for so big a beast, Paia snaked around the corner and walked deeper into the half ruined town, where the alleys where darkest. Once she found a dead end street, the dragon turned around and crouched near the spirit again. "Speak what you want quickly and to the point, Ive wasted enough time already."

Piri nodded lightly as Paia spoke. Honestly she had yet to start planning what she wanted in return which was most unlike her. Under normal circumstances that would have been her sole reason for initiating the conversation. This time though it had simply been her intense desire to relieve her boredom. There was nothing to interest her in this town; in fact there were very few things anywhere which could entertain her for an extended period of time. She understood why the dragon did not want to negotiate right then and there. It would be highly inappropriate, and probably dangerous for the dragon. Piri wasn't too bothered about harm coming to the dragon but it would mean that she would receive nothing. Not that there was anything she wanted. A spirit couldn't exactly do much.
"I cannot help you as of yet," said Piri slowly with a slight sigh. She drifted after the dragon as she moved further into the town. It was in quite a state really, not the nicest place to spend an indefinite period of time in. "I do not know what you are searching for," she added, gesturing with her arm at the expanse of the town. It was a strange sight really, the thin moonlight passing through her arm. Some of the light went straight through, whilst some was refracted as if her arm was made from a thin sheet of glass.

Paia stood silent for a moment, pondering wether to keep going with this or not. What could a spirit do to her? Other than spread about the fact of her presence here and any information she passed on, but then again, according to what she has learned from most humans, they where either scared or did not believe in spirits. Nor what ever came out of them. Her eyes narrowed for a second and then her neck stretched around the spirit, wrapping her within her body's heat like a coiling snake. " A Rodylian Emisary. There is to be a meeting held within these grounds very soon. I need to know where this mesenger is hiding, but alas, all these dwelings look the same to me. Each one as rotten and disfigured as the other. I was simply looking for the one to stand out the most." She was all seriousness. She was careful not to leak out any crucial detail to her true task. None can be trusted.
