The sky was an odd color this evening, a deep red fading into blue. The scene reflecting over the lake made it look like a huge water color painting shimmering in the sun. Vincent put down his pencil for the moment and flipped his sketchbook back a few pages. He always found it amazing how much a scene could differ every day. The sky could have more clouds, the lake could be covered in waves, the trees could lose their leaves; there were endless possibilities.
As he got back to drawing, the atmosphere changed. Not the appearance, but the feeling. The air held a sort of unnatural crispness to it. Vincent knew that feeling. He had felt it only a few times before. He quickly closed his book and pocketed it. If he hurried, he could get back to his horse before something unfriendly appeared. Out of the corner of his eye, he thought he saw something move. Going against his gut, Vincent peeked over the ridge of rocks he had been sitting on and loosened his rapier.

The world had gone black. Had the sun died out? She asked herself, beginning to show the first signs of stress and panic, even in her unconcious sleep, but if she where truly unconcious, was this just a dream then? Her eyes fealt heavy, impossible to lift and the rest of herself numb. The memories came in short flashbacks. The sky had been fine untill moments ago, or was it the sky she was stairing into? It was blue so...
Then came a ripling, or ripping sound, the blinding light, and poof, her light went out. Lorely was finally able to open her eyes; the eyelids flickering as they tried to fully open in a lazy fashion. Her dark locks fell over her shoulder as she lifted her body up agaisn't the ground with her arms. Grass and leaves tangled together in a lost fight with her messed up hair. As her lilac eyes focused, little by little, the scenery before her finally became clear in small bits. The sky was an unusuall warm color, reaching her very senses. There was a short wave of pure green grass before miniature cliffs disrupted its passage. Her keen nose smelled lost of water nearby.
All this brought a frown to her face with still drowzy eyes as the young lady uprighted herself into a sitting position, legs crossed with each other and arms limp between them, resting upon her simple, long burgunfy dress. She wrinkled her nose at the many new, diferent scents trying to ram into her all at once. " What is this place...Did I die or something?" She combed through her hair with her fingers and found all the tangled leaves in it, but was too tired to pluck them out, so she tried to get up as a first step to who knows what, whining a bit at the sudden weight thrown unto her legs and tumbling over her ankle long dress, all the wile her brows pressed inward, mroe annoyed than perplexed.

Rive skipped around the field, knowing something was up. However that didn't ruin his wondrous, amazingly happy mood. Oh how he loved the smell of this world, and all that inhabits it. The soldiers and people of Daevir stank with disgusting rotten flesh odor. Not here through, which he prayed to the gods for such a blessing. Not even the feeling of a rift made him feel down, it could just mean more friends to play and meet!
He opened his eyes to look over at a guy sitting there. He didn't seem much harm, but what did he know? Rive was still a happy oblivious to danger sort of person at the moment. There was definitely someone and hopefully not something coming out of the rift.
"What a spectacular day!" He yelled out in happiness and glee! Then quickly he went over to hug the guy sitting down for a few seconds before putting his left arm over his shoulder.
"Oh how I love it here, I can almost kiss you!" Rive said in a not so serious tone, but he was serious about it. This world always gave him this feeling of joy!

A light gust of wind passed over the lake as Vincent blinked the shock out of his eyes. He supposed this was better than something like a goblin or a very confused dragon, which would present a much larger problem. It was a girl, a teenager most likely. It seemed that she was still getting her bearings in the new world. He remembered his own shock when he first set foot in Rodylia, and he thought she was doing quite well.
Letting his sword fall back into its place, he skidded down the ravine a bit to get a better look. Her eyes were open now. With some effort, he noticed that they were a pale lilac in color. Darkling, he thought. They were an unpredictable type to be sure, but maybe he would be able to get to her before she started attacking things.
Vincent stood up so that it wouldn’t look like he was going to ambush her and called, “Are you alright? It seems as if you took a tumble down the hill.” It was best to play dumb for now. As he was thinking about how to best deal with her, he head another sound. Footsteps. He reached for his sword but it was too late, an arm was already around his neck. He was about to elbow the intruder when the man said one of the oddest things Vincent had ever heard in his life. “Sir,” he said as tolerantly as he could manage, “what are you doing?”

By now Lorely was dusting away her long dress as she regained her balance, coughing a bit, and shaking her head off the dizzyness whatever happened created in her mind. As she lifted her face to the sky once more, it's briliant, orangy lights showered over her face, causing her to squint her eyes at the dying sun and shade them with her palm.
All of a suden, there is a man right before her and by what it seemed, he looked like he was studying her oddly closely. She gasped only a bit and stepped back astonished. "I what?" Her brows furrowed toward him, she inspected herself. Was that really what happened? But...what hill did she fall over? There are no such hills in Daevir. "How...could I have fallen down a hill? There are no-." Lorely was doing well to keep calm, unconciously well. She has not yet realized teh gravity of her situation.
Then just as unexpectedly as this man had come, yet another one popped out of nowhere and hugged the first stranger. This time Lorely gasped a bit more audibly and schocked, a brow arching over her widened eyes. This guy was....certainly diferent. Lorely stood paralyze at the sight, clutching her dress and stareing wierdly at them.

"Hello, friend!", Rive hollered at the girl with eager anticipation. "We're all friends right?" "Ah, c'mon, you know you want to be my friend!" Rive said happily letting go of his grip od the guy and walking forward. Well he attempted to walk forward, but only ended up tripping over a rock and landing flat on his face. Even the grass in Rodylia was better then Daevir. That was his opinion at least. He got up riping off the grass and taking a deep breathe while facing the vast eternal sky.
"So umm how is everyone?" he said turning to the guy then the girl.

Vincent stared, mouth agape, at the man. He had to be drunk, or maybe he was dropped on the head a couple too many times as a child. Either way, he was rather entertaining. “I’m quite good, thank you,” he answered with a slight laugh. “Though I am wondering where you came from.” He shook his head and looked back to the girl.
She looked even more confused now, if that was at all possible. Vincent took off his pack and produced a waterskin. “Here.” He handed it out to her. “This could help. At least it’ll take away the dizziness.” He smiled. “My name is Vincent.” He glanced at the other bizarre man and wondered if he even knew his name. He seemed fairly harmless, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something wrong about him, something foreign. He certainly didn’t look like he was from Daevir.

One of Lorely's arched brow twitched horrified by the way the man was acting. All friends? As he kept talking more chills ran up her spine. This guy was crazy. Yet the man that called himself Vincent was laughing about it. Who would follow this twisted personality? The wolf in her could smelled something familiar about the silly guy though and that made her curious.
Her eyes fixed on Vincent again as he offered the water and explained a bit how it would help. She held back at first, eying it timidly, but took it into her hands. She raised it to her nose and sniffed it quickly. She blinked as it seemed nothing was wrong with it and, after biting her lip first, she greedily drank the hole thing and sighed heavily before sucking some more breath. She gave the two men another hard look and, face frowning, she finally asked. " Who are you two and why.....is he so happy?" She said giving Rive another bizarre look. This looked like a hole lot of mess she'd like none of. She hoped they would continue speaking between themselves as she started taking her first wobbly steps backward. If she could shift into her wolf she could perhaps run away already...

"Its just the world is so wonderful!" "With the good feeling of the sky, the trees, the grass, the sun, and......the insects!" Rive replied with a even more gleeful tone. Then with that he dropped onto the soft ground and began to roll around in it. The grass felt nice and cool, just like the many times he tried. Then he stopped abruptly before turning back to the others. There faces always looked so distressed. He can't blame them, most people were so unappreciative.
"H-A-P-P-Y," he said doing stunts with each letter he spelled.

Vincent had seen quite a few strange things in his life. But this man may have toppled them all and crushed them with one of his spastic rolls. Still facing the madman, he raised his eyebrows and turned his eyes to the girl. “I assure you, I’ve never seen him before in my life.” He shook his head when the man started doing more stunts. “And if I had, I would have made sure he was given some help.” The man finished his last cartwheel and posed as if he was some sort of gymnastics’ athlete. “And perhaps a hit on the head.”
Finally turning away from the spectacle, Vincent brushed his hands together and spoke to the girl. “So do you know how you got here, or are you even more confused than I am right now?” He was careful in his choice of words. There was no need to let her know that he knew about the Dark World or even that the girl was currently in the Light World. “So do you have a name or are you just going to stay as anonymous as that lunatic over there?”

If it where possible, Lorely's eyes widened even more when this...man, she was starting to doubt he was human, began spelling out words with awkward body movements, very cheerful ones. She turned her startled stare toward Vincent when he adressed her, willing to believe they didn't know eachother for who would hang around the guy? Some of the last bit of what he said actually made her gigle. She'd try the same too or worse. She tried holding back her laugh though. This was no moment to be chukling!
Then, Vincent turned away from the show and asked her the question she's been asking herself since the moment she saw all the long hills of green grass. But then...what was making him confused? "...What has you confused? Him?" She made sure to enphasize it pointing the madman's way. Lorely suddenly didn't want to look so desoriantated infront of this man, or the other guy. She probably looked vulnerable, as her wolf side told her. "And..." She began a bit hesitantly "I guess I must have forgotten? Maybe I hit my head on something...hard..." She looked away for a moment and shut her eyes tight. How ridiculous! No one would believe something so dumb. She lamented the dumb words that came from her mouth, for they would surely show how truly confused she was even more. "Oh! my name?" She turned around again, brushing her fingers through the mess of locks as she tiptoed a few steps back from him, adding a bit of flirt into it from who knows where. "Well, Anynomous it is. But you can call me Anny for short. I am not obligated to give my name to anyone. Much less a p-..." She finished, folding her arms together. She was about to call him peasant, but thought otherwise untill she was sure of what the hell was happening first. "-a..stranger, whos acompanied by a much more wierder stranger!"

"Me, a stranger?" Rive said with an insulted face. "I have a name you know, humph!" As he finished his sentence a sharp pain erupted from his left shoulder. They have already found the rift? Just when he made some new friends or something close to friends! He reached over with his right hand to slide across it, identifying the weapon was an arrow. It wasn't as bad as he thought, but a weapon was still dangerous.
Quickly pulling it out, he found himself staring at its dark black sides and drips of purple like substance at the head. Poison! Then again it was partially his fault for allowing it. Shouts came by from behind him and god, who knows what more pain he'll have to deal with. Dropping the arrow, his face turned dead serious. With some reluctance from his body, he grabbed each of their hands and ran.
"Hey, hey you two will be owning me your lives after this escape is done." "Also my names Rive," as he spoke he could feel the toxins spreading all over his body. They needed to find some sort of shelter.

He could tell she was a smart one, this Anny. Perhaps a bit scared judging from her rather awkward excuse, but at least she was smart enough to give an alias. He was abut to ask what she was going to say that started with a “p” when that bizarre man made a sort of grunting noise. Vincent decided to give his curiosity what is wanted, and he looked over at the man. He had been shot. Vincent reached for his sword and scanned the area, putting himself in front of Anny. She wasn’t going to die here if he could help it.
Then the man did something even more surprising. Apparently still alive, he plucked the arrow out of its wound and took on a completely different persona. He grabbed Vincent and Anny by the wrists and tugged them away. After being pulled a few yards and apparently away from any immediate danger, Vincent held his ground and tried to make Rive stop running. “Rive, who the hell just attacked you? Why are you helping us? And how are you still able to run after being shot?”

Lorely was beginning to gain more and more confidence. Then a strange noise came from Rive's direction and when she faced him, her face whent blank with a bit of shock at the sight of the arrow sticking out of his back. "Hey! Are you al-" She couldn't finishe the rest as her hand was suddenly grabbed and pulled by the guy just as Vincent was also hauled with him and all three rocketed away from the 'danger' she had yet to see. Lorely stumbled a few times just trying to keep up with him and being pulled at the same time, she had no balance. " Stop! Unhand me!" she demanded along the way untill after a short wile Vincent tried to do the same. He managed to slow down the maniac, which gave Lorely an oportunity to atempt jerking her hand away. The questions that Vincent was blurting out suddenly ringged many bells inside her head.
It's true...how was he able to run at that speed. The arrow was obviously poisoned too. She could smell it a mile away. "You should stand still idiot! You must have spread the poison through out all your body by now!" Another strong scent of poison filled the air. It was so intoxicating, Lorely had to cover her mouth in disgust with her free hand. "There's alot of venom in those arrow heads. Theres more behind us." She said through muffled words. Should she do something....

Rive head was running with sweat, partially due to the effects of the poison. Her breathing was in large gulps and he could feel his body burn. They had to get away farther, it still wasn't safe. Without his armor he can't save them, besides will he even want to save them when hes in? He continued to take in gulps of air, his head bent down. She could feel it getting worse by the second, sliding his hand into a pocket, he managed to pull out the antidote. The others will question him about it, but he quickly ingested it.
"All you need to know is, you guys have to get out of here as quickly as possible." he rasped out.
