So, they were finally here. Where as Caedo stood safely on the rooftop on both feet, he didn't think Nadir would have the same approach, however. Knowing the man he'd fall on his feet, or nearly fall off the building. Oh well, it'd mean Caedo would have to play hero. Why were people these days so useless, he wondered, but later shrugged it off. He took off his hat, holding it to his side as a stray gust of wind flew by. It had a certain chill to it, but Caedo liked it. It felt so... Comforting? The soft light coming from Rodylia's moon probably played a major part in it as well. Oh, how this beat the way Daevir was, by a long shot. Something here was always relaxing, while back home, you had to stay on your toes. Trick, or be tricked, as his father used to say.
"Good old Rodylia, never gets old." He said to himself, gazing upon the semi-crowded streets of the city. It was apparent, Arvila. He had been here before, in all those times he left Daevir for amusement. He let out a slight sigh, he'd merely observe until Nadir got here. Was was it with humans being so slow with magic? Had they found some secret way to piss it off to the point of now liking? That made Caedo wonder, he'd have to look it up sometime!

Nadir stopped in his tracks as he heard candle-man speak. He was almost scared to turn around. Really, who know what goes on in that man’s head? Maybe his earlier thought that the man would try to kill him wasn’t all that off. Deciding he’d rather meet death in the eyes than in the back, he turned around…
Only to be met with a blast of ephemeral light.
For a moment, he thought he was dead. Slowly, sensation returned to his limbs and he just figured he was blind. No, not even that. Something was appearing. Something like… candle-man.
Nadir yelped and crawled away, too far, maybe. When he put his hand down, it felt nothing, no ground. Where did the ground go? He blinked and turned. Below him was a city street, darkened by night but completely unfamiliar. “What?”
His heart continued to race as he glanced around, looking for anything familiar. Up above, even the stars were different. Only candle-man was there. He, of all people, was the only thing he recognized. “Where are we?” he spat, scrambling away from the ledge.

Caedo looked down at Nadir (for he was still positioned on the highest tip of the roof) as he scrambled away from the edge and asked his sudden question. Caedo couldn't help but laugh partially at this. "You don't mean to tell me you've never been teleported before! ...Humans..." He muttered, finding out how exactly he'd explain where they were. "We are in The Land of Rodylia! To be more precise, Arvila. Rodylia's capitol. I doubt your Thieves Guild would ever be found around here, hm?" He asked rhetorically, before putting his hat back on, looking about the city.
"Brilliant, isn't it?" He asked no one in general, before slipping a box of treats out of his pocket. He delicately opened the box, taking one out before turning to Nadir. "Don't worry, you'll get used to it." He stated, tossing the treat to him. He doubted he'd eat it, but the man did seem obsessed with sugar. So, at some point it could lead to a simple bribery. People these days, they were so easy to fool... It almost made him wonder how they lived so long.

Nadir stared at him, aghast. “Rodylia? Rodylia’s a myth! Just… it’s not.” He peaked over the edge again, his bow knitted concentration of finding something he’d heard about—architecture, shop names, something. Teleportation he could believe, but not to some different universe. That was beyond being just ridiculous. “Cavral, maybe?” he muttered.
He started as candle-man threw something at him. For a moment, he thought it would explode. It just seemed like something he would do. But it didn’t. It just landed dully on the rooftop. Nadir stared for a few more seconds before going over to examine it. Candy. “How can you eat in a time like this?”
Suddenly, something moved on one of the other rooftops. Nadir froze, hoping it was a cat, but slowly, out from the shadows came a figure of a man, a cloak rippling out from behind. What next? he thought grimly.

There were far too many distractions lately. Not any worse than usual, if he really thought about it, but any were still enough to bother a man. At least an investigation would give him something to do other than paperwork and yelling at underlings.
Cain, cloaked in black as always, sped through the streets, following something deeper and more archaic than conventional directions. He fancied the talent to a dog’s sense of smell. While they could track by sent, Cain could track by magic, that and the all too familiar feeling of the Dark World. But, this time it was unusual. There was no Rift nearby, no, he would be able to sense that. This was something more powerful. Teleportation.
Using a wall and a series of windows to heft himself up to the roofs, Cain continued his quest. He stopped not when his senses told him to, but his site. The moon was nearly full, casting more than enough light to see two figures on the adjacent roof. He paused and stared, planning, and waiting for the strangers’ actions.

Caedo scowled, listening to the man mumble on about how Rodylia was a myth, and something about Cavral. He wouldn't comment, he didn't really care. As far as he was concerned, the man's reaction to this all was a prize enough. He couldn't help but smile at his question though, letting out a slight chuckle. "I'll leave you to decide," he stated, waving his hand in an odd dismissive manner. Then, something moved. In the shadows, on another rooftop. Damn, he should have known the spell would attract someone or another. He had done this plenty of times before, and never had got caught. He sighed, turning toward the figure. He gripped his staff firmly, but lost sight of the figure.
This was bound to be a long night. "Oh, by the way, it isn't a myth. If it was, you wouldn't be alive this very moment." He retorted, observing the area for the shadow man. For all he knew, it was an assassin, how lovely.

Nadir ripped his attention away from the shadow to listen to Caedo’s comment. How could the man be so nonchalant about this? And what did he even mean? Why wouldn’t he be alive? He tried to think of what would happen if he teleported somewhere that didn’t exist, but it made it head hurt. “I don’t even know what you’re talking about,” he said, sighing to himself. He turned his attention back to the figure in the shadows. “Hey, candle-man. You have any idea who that is? Is he your friend?” His voice shook as he spoke, thick with fear and other emotions he had never felt before.

Cain clicked his tongue. This was taking too long. In the dim light, he could make out two other forms, one of which seemed to be waiting for him to make the next move. At this rate, they would be standing there all night with nothing to show for it. He shrugged off any remaining inhibitions and common sense and yelled across the gap. “Fine night to be out, isn’t it?”

Well, this man got duller and duller each moment. He didn't understand what he meant. Odd, because he choose the words carefully. Or, so he thought. He shrugged it off, before Nadir asked him a question. Candle-man? Since when was he the 'candle-man', he did have a name. Of which he never gave Nadir, but still. He'd appreciate a better nickname, seeing he fed the man. "No, I don't. Keep your wits up, in case he tries something. Quit looking so useless, your a thief, right? Start looking like one." That was more of an order then a reply, but it worked in the mean while. Caedo smirked, now locating the figure since he spoke.
"Indeed! I was just thinking the same thing. Now, why don't you come over here so we can get a closer look at you?" He called back, adding something to that real quick. "I mean, we don't want to wake people up, now do we? We are after all on the rooftops."

OOC: Aww, Caedo doesn’t like his nickname.
Cain narrowed his eyes. This man seemed to be more trouble than he was worth. The last thing he wanted was to be put in a position where he could be stabbed by either one of the figures, but it seemed he had no choice if he was to get any information out of them. Plus if the man could manage to teleport, he could probably manage to create a spell that would be more of a threat than any blade.
He looked over the edge of the roof. It would be annoying to need to climb down, and it didn’t seem that it would do any harm to show off for a change. Cain stepped off the edge and left a powerful updraft of air push him to the other side, all the way making sure his hood continued to cover his face. He landed lightly on the roof and walked closer to the others with the inertia of the trip. Quickly looking over them in the meager light of the moon, he surmised that the terrified looking one was no doubt a human and the other one may have been a darkling. No, with that sort of magic, he had to be a darkling. “Well,” he said. “Here I am. Care to answer just what brings you to Arvila?”

Nadir felt a surge of anger at candle-man’s comment. Any thief with half of his wits about him would have taken off running by now. So where does that leave me? Witless? He finally rose on unsteady feet, touching his knife as he watched the shadow-man. I just wish I had somewhere to run.
“Look, candle-man. Do you know what you’re getting yourself into? This doesn’t look smart or safe, and every part of the thief I am wants to get the hell out of here.” He gritted his teeth as the shadow-man for all intents and purposes started to fly. “If I die, I’m coming back to haunt you.” As the shadow-man landed, he continued to back away, farther from both the stranger and candle-man.

Well, that was faster then he imagined. The shadow-man approached, while Nadir was mumbling on about something that Caedo was only half listening to. His focus was on the shadow, rather then Nadir. Caedo grinned at the stranger's question, however. This ought to be fun, never mind that it would be dangerous. He should have listened to Nadir, but he wasn't that easy to shake up. "Well, I was trying to prove that it existed, for one." He responded bluntly, looking at Nadir from the corner of his eye. The man was backing away, when he was in a foreign world, none the less. He could easily get lost. "The rest is out of sheer boredom," And to scare the hell out of the human, he added to himself, turning his attentions back to the stranger.
"What about you? I mean, you can't only be attracted to a measly transportation spell, hm?"

Cain raised his eyebrows. “A measly transportation spell? I’ve known Magus who would have been hard-pressed to cast half of that.” He glanced at the scared man, who seemed to be trying to run away. He didn’t look like much of a threat, but it would be wise to keep an eye on him. He licked his lips and looked back at the darkling. “I’m not sure how you were raised, but as I recall, it’s impolite to demand the host to do anything. You seem like a well-bred man. It would be a pity to leave a bad first impression. So let’s stop playing this little game and answer my question.” He grinned. Cain couldn’t tell what the best strategy to go about this was, but he couldn’t let his guard down, not in front of someone who seemed this strong. If the creepy intimidation plan didn’t work out, he could always start to threaten ripping off limbs. One thing at a time.

Caedo decided to start walking about the rooftops by the time the man started talking. To tell the truth, he was only half listening. He always did this, but he had a hard time keeping his guard up and listening at the same time. No, that wasn't it. It was that he didn't take a moment to be persuade by the enemy, even if this man wasn't his enemy just yet. "A game? I recall I told the truth. If I'm rude, then so are you. It's a little something that's considered 'minding your own business'." He stated nonchalantly, still walking away from both Nadir and the man. It took him little effort to jump over a small gap in between the two roofs, and when he landed, he turned around.
He looked at Nadir, and the other man. Even if he was being a complete idiot, he wouldn't be that easy to take down. He'd push his luck until the stranger tried something, then he'd leave. That, or he'd take the more serious approach. He was testing his boundaries, for better or worse. He was conversing with a light creature, not dark. Would it lead to his downfall, he wondered? Well, first things first, he had to see if Nadir or the other man would follow him.
"Now, you still owe me an answer to my question. First things first."

“Do I need a better reason to see what’s going on?” Cain asked with a scowl. This man was completely erratic, leaving the human on his own, turning his back on a potential enemy, not to mention walking straight into the capital of two organizations who would more than likely want him dead. He could be completely mad, overconfident,—either of which would make him more of a threat—or understood absolutely nothing. “Let me get this straight.” He followed after him, shaking his head like he was lecturing some misbehaving child. So that’s what he’s become, a babysitter for bored darklings. “You walk in here like you own the city with magic strong enough to tear the castle in two, towing along some half terrified little hangers-on, and you demand have answers. Use your head, you idiot! I don’t care how goddamned mysterious you’re trying to make yourself out to be, you understand full well what I’m doing out here.” Cain faced him, resisting the urge to slap the smiling clown in the face. “Are. You. A. Threat.”
